Fittja 2: Thanks for your support!
Torsdag 4 Februari, 2010 kl. 3:51 fmImprisonment is the possible consequence for all of us who will not submit to the reigning power structures of today. For all of us who opted to act instead of waiting for a change that is never coming. Who believe that another world is possible. A world beyond the nonsense of politicians and the greedy rich. A world where our needs are what is important – not money. Where we make the decisions about our own lives. Where equality and egality are a reality and not just set phrases in an election campaign. A world where a mass murder is not labelled a peace project and where security does not equal control and monitoring. You know what this is about.
In various ways being stripped of our freedom affects us – whether it be at the hands of authorities in our daily lives (as the social services, the social insurance administration or the employment services) or by being locked up in detention centers and institutions. The state steals our time, for some their entire lives. But a movement is not made up by one or two individuals. It is together that we can change something. It is through our thoughts, actions and through our solidarity for one another. And when one is taken away from us, others take over. The solidarity created therewhile strengthens us in our convictions.
Thank you all who wrote letters, donated money and in various ways supported us while we were in jail. It meant so much to us that you stood by our side.
Now we want to focus on the six members of the syndicalist union Iniciativa in Serbia who have been in detention since late August on suspicion of “international terrorism”. They are being charged with throwing two Molotov cocktails through a window of the Greek Embassy. An act of solidarity with an imprisoned Greek anarchist, according to the press release from the group “Belgrade anarchists” who claimed responsibility for the action. Their trial is set to begin on February 17th. They need our support.
More info about the six can be found at Anarcho-syndicalist Initiative. To find out how you can support them check out Belgrade Solidarity.
We also want to draw attention to the nine people from the small village Tarnac in France accused of terrorist crimes. They are suspected of having sabotaged train tracks, but the evidence is weak. The case seems to rest entirely on the suspicion that the accused have written a book called “The Coming Insurrection” and on their alleged links to the “ultra left” or “anarcho-autonomous movement”.
You find information about them on Support the Tarnac 9 where “The coming insurrection” can be downloaded in English.
